SPALTED BEECH

Irish spalted beech is one of our most popular timbers and it’s easy to see why. Every piece of Irish Spalted beech furniture is a completely unique with a vibrant grain pattern. We source our beech timber from castles and estates in Ireland. When a beech tree matures it can become a hazard and estates need to fell them to make them safe.
This facilitates replanting of new trees. Once a beech tree is felled we let it mature on the ground fro up to 18 months and this allows it to spalt into amazing grain patterns and colours. It is always amazing for our craftsmen to see the timber come alive in our workshop as they finish and it’s unique patterns emerge. Over the years we have become experts at getting the most from this unique timber. We finish our Irish spalted beech furniture with a hard wearing durable finish that is stain, water and heat resistant.
